Introducing the B.E.O.A...
The
objects for which the Association was originally established are:
To
maintain and improve the general standards of and protect the commercial and
economic interests generally of persons engaged in the import, export, sale,
purchase and production of essential oils, oleoresins, aromatic chemicals and
other activities usually carried on by persons engaged in the essential oil,
oleoresin and aromatic chemical trade.
To afford
advice and assistance to and to provide services generally for and to encourage
co-operation between members of the Association.
To collect
and disseminate information relating to the essential oil, oleoresin and
aromatic chemical trade in the fields of trade protection, industrial relations
and otherwise as the Committee of the Association may think fit.
To
encourage research and development in the essential oil, oleoresin and aromatic
chemical trade and to enter into arrangement or arrangements or promoting,
commissioning, financing and publicising such research and development.
To
establish and maintain professional and social contacts with persons, companies
and the essential oil, oleoresin and aromatic chemical trade in all parts of the
world.
To own and
publish journals, magazines, books and other literary works and publications and
to produce films, filmstrips, tapes and other visual aids relating to the
essential oil, oleoresin and aromatic chemical trade and to sell or to otherwise
dispose of such products whether or not published or produced by the
Association.
To assist,
promote, establish and contribute to shows and exhibitions which may be
calculated directly or indirectly to benefit the essential oil, oleoresin and
aromatic chemical trade and persons engaged therein and, in connection
therewith, to grant prizes, rewards and donations.
To give
the legislature and other public bodies facilities for conferring with and
ascertaining the views of persons engaged in the essential oil, oleoresin and
aromatic chemical trade, to support or oppose changes in the law and to concert
and promote measures for the protection and advancement of the essential oil,
oleoresin and aromatic chemical trade.
To enter
into any arrangement with any government or authority, national, municipal,
local or other, that may seem conducive to the objects and purposes of the
Association.
To invest
the moneys of the Association not immediately required for its purposes in or
upon such investments, securities or property as may be thought fit.
To procure
the registration or recognition of the Association in any foreign country or
place.
To
establish, undertake, administer and contribute to any charitable or benevolent
fund from which may be made donations or advances to deserving persons who may
be or have been engaged or employed in the essential oil, oleoresin or aromatic
chemical trade or related to or connected with any person who may be or have
been engaged or employed therein, and to contribute to or otherwise assist any
charitable or benevolent institutions.
To promote
any reforms and undertake any arrangements which from time to time may commend
themselves to the Association with a view to promoting and protecting commercial
and other useful objects connected with the essential oil, oleoresin and
aromatic chemical trade, and generally to do all such other lawful things as may
be conducive or incidental to the attainment of the above objects or any of
them.
The
liability of the members is limited.
We,
the several persons whose names and addresses are subscribed, are desirous of
being formed into a company, in pursuance of this Memorandum of Association.
